Wescon adds dual-axis remote valve, Vernier controls

Wescon Products Co. has added two new products to its control range used in a variety of on-highway and off-highway applications, a dual-axis remote valve control and a new Vernier control.

The Wichita, Kan.-based manufacturer has redesigned its dual-axis remote valve control to give the operator control of two cables, and as such, two functions, at one time. Wescon introduced a single-axis control in 1995.(Published By The Journal RecordAs the owner-operator of Sunny View Sanitary Supply, it's clear that Phil Mathews has learned his lessons well. He's taken the experiences of a 20-year career at Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, 15 years operating a snow plowing business, and the knowledge he gained in earning his degree at LCC and used it all to become an entrepreneur. Not bad for a guy who didn't know where his next paycheck was going to come from just a few months ago.October 9 & 16, 1996.) HURLEY, (Seal)City ClerkWescon has also redesigned its Vernier control system for better load handling capability, increased manufacturability and easier sliding. The Vernier control is used as a throttle or auxiliary throttle control in turf maintenance equipment and other similar off-highway equipment applications. A red button has been added to the center of the control knob to allow for coarse adjustment. The button also doubles as an emergency button in that by depressing it, it can return the Vernier to the idle position in a single stroke. The button is now also sealed to keep contaminants out. The outer portions of the knob is used for fine adjustments.

Further, the standard friction brake has been improved to withstand greater loads and the entire length of the body has been threaded. The head can be disconnected to allow easier installation by removing and replacing a single nut.
